Hotel appears dirty due to wear. Carpets very dirty in room. First floor room was loud. Could hear EVERYTHING going on upstairs. Called front desk, and they did call the room above for us. Very helpful staff.Adequate continental breakfast..could be better. Ran out of towels...???? Great location, just need to pay closer attention to cleanliness

I stayed at the Place d'Armes years ago and it's changed quite a bit, but for the price you can't beat the location. The courtyard and pool aren't kept as clean and pretty as they were previously. I had an interior room which was pretty small, but clean and quiet. I was upset that because I was on the 5th floor housekeeping didn't make it to my room until late in the afternoon (i.e. 4 or 5 PM), at which point I was generally back in my room trying to relax before heading out to dinner. If you are looking for a decent room at a cheap price with a great location, I would definitely recommend the Place d'Armes.

I stayed four nights , traveling with my 18 year old granddaughter. I really don't think she appreciated the ambiance that the hotel was tryng to portray. I love the courtyard and enjoyed the coffee and starter breakfast they offered, but I agree with my granddaughter about needing updating. New mattress and T.V.'s would do a lot for a fresher look. The location (important when your looking to buy a house) was great, we still did a lot of walking. I thought from the other reviews I had read the staff would be, friendly...maybe we got the grumpy crew. I fould them stuffy and unfreindly. When we first arrived we were given a room on the 5th floor, with no window, I knew there would be no way I could handle that close of quarters for that many nights. I ask for a upgrade, which I was pleased with on the first floor with the door opening to the courtyard. Had I made my reservation direct with the hotel I could have gotten the same room I ended up in, cheaper. I used, for the first time eared points with Travel Website, so had to go through Travel Website to use my points. lessons learned in life, will be smarter next time. I will probably not stay here again....there are too many places to stay with nicer rooms for the same money and with beautiful courtyards. After walking all day I need a comfy bed and a T,V, that doesn't have a green cast, with a size not much larger than a computer screen, to go to sleep with. "Not enough sugar for my dime here!"! I do love NO and will be back to spend my hard earned money.......I'll get it right yet.

This was a nice hotel at a great price. The room was clean and the staff was pleasant. We felt secure in our street level room. We enjoyed the quiet courtyard. This hotel is so close to everything in the French Quarter. I would suggest this hotel for your next stay.
